0656 FLOOR SANDING AND FINISHING - PRIMER / SEALER

1. GENERAL

1.1 Scope

Supply and application of a waterborne timber-floor primer / sealer selected to suit the specified topcoat and substrate species. The primer shall be Bona Oil-Modified Sport Seal.

2. PRODUCTS

2.1 Primer

Product: Bona Oil-Modified Sport Seal.

Chemistry: oil-modified polyurethane sealer (solvent-borne).

VOC: <500 g/L g/L.

Solids: 43%%.

Coverage: (refer to TDS) m2/L per coat.

2.2 Substrate compatibility

Substrate not nominated; verify species compatibility against the Bona species x primer matrix before tender.

3. EXECUTION

3.1 Preparation

Sand to bare timber, final grit P120 or finer. Vacuum and tack-mop.

3.2 Application

Apply per TDS. Recoat per TDS (2-4 hours typical). On high-tannin species (Blackbutt, Tallowwood, Ironbark, Merbau) refer to the compatibility matrix - use Bona Intense unless another primer is specifically recommended for the species.

3.3 Compatibility with topcoat

Apply the specified Bona topcoat system within the manufacturer's recoat window or lightly sand P150 before the topcoat.
