Can Bona Classic UX be used on European Oak?
Bona does not specifically address Bona Classic UX on European Oak. Trial application required; refer to the general Bona rule set.
Bona does not explicitly address the combination of Bona Classic UX on European Oak. European Oak is classified medium-high tannin.
Bona Classic UX TDS names only Blackbutt and Tallowwood; European Oak is not called out, but its high tannin content warrants a trial application.
The conservative default is to follow Bona's general primer-selection logic:
• For high-tannin or dark hardwoods: specify Bona Intense.
• For softwoods and parquetry: Bona Classic is particularly suitable.
• For a whitewashed look on pale hardwoods: Bona White is the intended primer.
• Under Bona Traffic HD Raw: use Bona Classic UX.
A trial application is essential whenever the matrix status is 'unlisted'.
