Appearance
Reddish-brown to deep red, lighter than Jarrah with less burgundy. Slightly interlocked grain, even texture. Can look similar to Jarrah but generally lighter and more uniform.

Harder than Jarrah, sands reasonably well. High tannin -- same ferrous metal warnings as Jarrah. Less dimensionally stable than NSW species; can move more with humidity changes.
