daily Dry clean to remove surface dirt and grit

Products: bona-timber-spray-mop-kit, bona-microfibre-mop-pads

Pad/cloth: Bona Dusting Pad

Do not wet mop. Regular removal of sand prevents surface scratching.

weekly Remove water-soluble dirt with dedicated oiled-floor cleaner

Products: bona-oiled-floors-cleaner

Pad/cloth: Bona Microfibre Cleaning Pad

Dosing: Dry clean first; spray surface sparingly; clean along the boards; rinse or replace pad every 10-15 m²

Rinsed pads must be well wrung out before use

CONTRAINDICATION: Do NOT use household cleaners or polishes; do NOT use the standard Wood Floor Cleaner formulated for sealed floors as primary maintenance

as-needed Deep clean when build-up occurs (sparingly)

Products: bona-oxy-power-timber-deep-cleaner

Pad/cloth: Bona Deep Clean Pad

Dosing: Dry clean and mop first; spray area; let stand 1 minute; wipe with Deep Clean pad

CAVEAT: SAFE FOR OCCASIONAL USE on oiled floors only. Any detergent cleaning gradually reduces the protection of a penetrating-oil system -- refresh with a maintenance oil coat once dullness appears rather than relying on repeated deep cleans.

annual-or-when-dulling Apply maintenance coat of oil finish (not a polish/refresher)

Products: craft-oil-2k

Oiled floors are revitalised with an additional thin oil coat, not with Refresher. The Bona Refresher product is for sealed (waterborne/poly) floors only.

5-15-years-or-as-damaged Refurbish: clean + scrad/abrade + apply appropriate finish coat

Usually driven by appearance damage rather than wear. An additional coat of Craft Oil 2K is applied after abrading back to an even surface.

Contraindication summary

  • Do NOT use Bona Refresher on oiled floors -- refresh with oil instead
  • Do NOT use household cleaners or polishes
  • Repeated deep-cleaning reduces oil protection -- prefer periodic oil refresh when dullness appears
